When to do What
This wedding planner is designed to help you create a realistic schedule. You can check off each task as it is complete.

Six to Twelve Months Ahead
� Choose engagement ring
� Mail engagement announcement to newspapers
� Determine your budget and style of wedding (informal, formal, colors, etc)
� Select a date and time for wedding
� Reserve wedding and reception sites
� Select and notify attendants
� Choose and order gown and accessories
� Choose bridesmaids� dresses
� Determine size of guest list and begin gathering names and addresses
� Select and book clergy/judge/magistrate
� Select and reserve the following professionals:
Wedding Consultant
Florist
Caterer
Band or Disc jockey
Photographer and/or Videographer
Balloon Designer
Doves and/or Butterflies
� Begin planning the honeymoon

Three to Six Months Ahead
� Order cake
� Schedule rehearsal; book rehearsal dinner location
� Reserve tents, chairs, tables, linens, etc,
� Reserve limousine/carriage service
� Finalize the guest list
� Purchase or reserve groom�s attire
� Order invitations, thank you cards, and other printed materials desired (matches, napkins, programs, place cards, and stationery)
� Have mothers choose their dresses
� Shop for your trousseau
� Purchase wedding rings
� Enroll with the bridal registry of your favorite store(s) in cities of both families
� Book hotel for wedding night
� Reserve professional balloon decorator
� Make necessary medical exam appointments

One to Three Months Ahead
� Address and mail invitations (6 to 8 weeks in advance)
� Have final fittings for bride, groom, and attendants
� Finalize arrangements with musicians, florist, caterer, reception location, etc.
� Make appointments for hair, nails, and makeup
� Reserve accommodations for out-of-town guests
� Purchase guest book
� Plan bridesmaids� party
� Pick up wedding rings
� Choose gifts for groom and attendants
� Obtain requirements for marriage license (HIV classes, paperwork, etc.)

One Month Ahead
Draw up a seating plan for reception and write place cards
Take delivery of gown and accessories
Practice hairstyle with veil
Send change-of-address notice to post office
